Samuel Eto’o, former FC Barcelona striker and currently president of the Cameroon Football Federation, used his social networks to praise Real Madrid for their place in the Champions League final on May 28, after a new comeback this time against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Cameroonian accompanied two images – one of his time at Madrid and another of the white players celebrating reaching the final after eliminating City- to a message that has raised a lot of dust among Barça fans, who have in Eto’o one of their leading forwards in the last two decades. “Bravo Real Madrid, the club where it all started for me, for their impressive victory last night,” the African wrote in English.

What for the Madrid fans was a positive surprise, for the Catalans, it was a negative, especially after remembering that in one of his celebrations with Barça, he came to remember Madrid negatively, which led him to apologize shortly after. Comments like “not even Figo dared so much”, “With respect, you should publish that only out of respect for Barcelona fans,” or “Noooo Samu”, among many others, were written by many of his followers who did not understand this position.
