Frenkie de Jong wants to continue at FC Barcelona. He has repeated it several times recently, and now, in statements to various media outlets in Zeist (The Netherlands), he has not been able to make it any clearer. “I don’t want to talk about rumors,” said the Blaugrana midfielder, concentrated with the Dutch team for the UEFA Nations League matches against Belgium, Wales, and Poland. “I prefer to stay at Barça,” he added in a statement collected by the media’ AD.nl’.

“I feel good in Barcelona. Contacts? I can’t say anything about it. There is no agreement or anything official. I want to stay at Barça. I’ve already said it before. Barça has been the club of my dreams since I was little”.

The financial needs of the culé entity open the door to a possible transfer to Manchester United, which has been very interested in his services since the arrival of Erik ten Hag on the bench at Old Trafford.

De Jong will listen to all the proposals that come to him – “If other clubs call me, I will take the call. It is something that is always done”–, but his illusion of succeeding at the Camp Nou remains intact. The next few months will be decisive for his future. “The leaders of Barça have not told me anything, and they have not proposed anything to me, so I understand that there is no operation underway. I have spoken with Xavi, but only about football issues, the team, and what we have to improve”.

Finally, the former Ajax soccer player has stated that he never regrets having decided to sign for Barça. “Never. At any moment. Barcelona is the club of my dreams, and it has been since I was little,” he has insisted.
