Riqui Puig began his journey at Barça in the cadet category, coming from Jàbac and Terrassa. At La Masía, he has enhanced his quality and has grown in footballing, passing step by step through the lower categories, where he won the UEFA Youth League for the 2017/2018 season, beating Chelsea in the final (3-0), as his most significant success. He made his debut with Barça B, under the guidance of Gerard López, in the match against Gimnàstic de Tarragona in the 2017/18 season. His performance with the reserve team amazed the fans, and he became the undisputed protagonist of that match. In the 2018/19 season, he became part of Barça B, while at the start of 2020/21, he moved up to the first team.

Previously, in the summer of 2018, he toured the United States with the Barça first team trained by Ernesto Valverde and had minutes in the Joan Gamper trophy played in August 2018. On December 5, 2018, he made his debut with the first team of Barça in the Copa del Rey match at the Camp Nou against Cultural Leonesa, in which he came on as a substitute in the 55th minute and assisted the fourth goal (4-1). On March 6, 2019, he started with Barça’s first team in the final of the Catalan Super Cup.
