Born on May 15, 1997, in Vernon (France), Ousmane Dembélé is one of the best young players in the world. At just 20 years old, the winger arrived at FC Barcelona on August 25, 2017, after showing in the French league and the German league that he is one of the players with the most remarkable ability to unbalance and dribble in world football.
The young French striker, who started in futsal at the age of seven and already stood out sharing the court with older players, signed for Stade Rennais Football Club at the age of 13 and joined their training center for five years.
At the end of 2014, he gets his first professional contract with Rennes. At just 17 years old in Ligue 1, he made his debut as a professional scorer against Girondins. His progression caught the attention of Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2016. His adaptation to the Signal Iduna Park team is excellent, scoring 12 goals and dishing out 20 assists in just one season.
Dembélé signs for Barça in the summer of 2017 and debuts with the first team on September 9, 2017, in a match corresponding to the League against Espanyol that ends with a resounding Barça victory (5-0).
Dembélé’s early years at Barcelona have been marked by unfortunate injuries that have hampered his performance. Although he has left positive moments when he has been available thanks to his daring and his powerful dribbling, the Barça fan has only been able to enjoy the Frenchman’s talent in tiny drops.
After standing out with the lower categories of the French national team, the under-17 and under-18 teams, Dembélé made his debut for the first time with the senior squad on September 1, 2016, in a friendly match against Belarus. He is also summoned to play in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and wins the championship.
