Born in Alicante in 1999, Iñaki Peña came to Barça from Villarreal in the Junior category in 2012. During his first season, he already won the League with the Barça team. He repeated it during his promotions, highlighting the Youth League of the season 2017/18.
His good level under the sticks made him reach Barça ‘B’ in the 2018/19 season. Since then, the player has alternated between the second and first teams according to the Club’s needs, forming part of the Copa del Rey title for the 2020/21 season. The following season, 2021/22, the goalkeeper decided to go on loan to Galatasaray during the winter market in search of minutes. After the loan, the young man trained at La Masía returned to the Barça club.
He is a goalkeeper who stands out for his security and firmness under the sticks. He has a good start in the air and provides a lot of force, although he also stands out for making good starts, covering up rival long passes. It is also necessary to mention his commitment as a leader; he has shown it from the lower categories. With the ball at his feet, he has a glove on his right leg and a lot of patience when it comes to going out with the ball played.
