On May 12, 1997, Frenkie de Jong was born in Arkel, Netherlands. He started his football career at Willem II, a team in the Dutch Eredivisie league. In 2016, he transferred to Ajax where he gradually worked his way up to become a crucial member of the starting eleven, thanks to his versatility and exceptional vision in midfield.
While at Ajax, he won the Dutch league and cup titles, and helped his team reach the semi-finals of the Champions League in the 2018/19 season.
In August 2019, de Jong made his debut for FC Barcelona in a game against Athletic Club in San Mamés.
An essential member of the Netherlands national team, de Jong played in the UEFA Nations League runner-up team in 2019, and he also participated in the Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, where the Netherlands lost to Argentina in the quarter-finals.
